Lewiston,ID buck
« on: May 21, 2012, 11:51:24 AM »
Received this yesterday from my aunt who lives in Lewiston.  She said a relative took the picture near Lindsey Creek Road. Im not sure if its a three legged deer or if the way its standing the 4th leg is hidden.  Maybe some of you Lewiston/Clarkston boys know more about this deer.  Cool deer either way.

an injury or missing leg could help explain the rack...  neat!

You should see him when he's full grown.  A buddy is a police officer in Lewiston and sees him quite a bit and gets pictures.  He'll likely get poached one of these nights, because he never leaves town.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Is it a three legged buck as it appears in the photo?  Have any fully grown photos you would like to share?

If it has a fourth leg it is PERFECTLY hidden behind the other.  Thats why I was wondering if any locals had any more info about the deer.

I don't know why you doubt he has three legs?  Out by my parents house they had a doe with a broken legs pointing straight out her back end.  And they saw her three consecutive years and this deer was in the not in town.  She also had fawns!

The one I know if there in that area was a 4 legged deer 2 years ago.  It was hit by a car that winter, and last year the front leg was just messed up; he limped pretty bad.  Maybe he finally found a way to get it torn off or it just died and fell off.  The buck always has had a mass of tangled horns.  The injury probably compounded the atypical growth, though.

I'm staring at the pictures trying to figure out what intersection that is.  Might have to spend a little time driving around some neighborhoods the next time I go for groceries.  Wife might question why we keep driving around in circles though.
