I believe with increased human population, its unlikely on public ground.  However, places like here in the n.e., I believe our state records could fall on public ground.

I also feel as though there should be an added asteric in the books  for private property.

Great article.  I liked his last section about the people who have sold their antlers and then would give anything to get them back once the money was gone.

I think it will be broken, but it'll be from an unlikely place like MD, NC, PA, IN.  Alberta or Saskatchewan has the ability, too, it's just a function of when an archer gets close enough.

I think it will be broken one day too but who knows how long it will take. From 2001-2010 there were only five bucks entered in B&C that scored more than 200 typical inches and not one of them would beat the current archery typical world record.

It's really going to take the stars aligning for it to happen. I think he was pretty spot on in his article. Of course the buck could come from anywhere but I can't think of a much better prediction than Ohio. From 2001-2010 they had four bucks entered there score more than 190. The only other locations that had that many over 190 were Saskatchewan, Kansas and Illinois. If there were more bowhunters I would think Saskatchewan would be the most likely to produce this buck.


My list for the ArcheryTypical World Record would go something like this:

1. Ohio
2. Kansas
3. Illinois
4. Saskatchewan
5. Alberta
6. Missouri
7. Manitoba


Todd I agree that sleeper states like PA, MD, and IN could come up with such a buck.

Of course old stalwarts like Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin could produce this buck too. In recent years most of the real giants coming out of Iowa seem to be non-typical, Wisconsin produces the most record typicals by far but they only have one in the top 50 from 2001-2010.

There is alot of bucks that grow the desired amount of antler to break the record..its all in configuration..WA has put out bucks with the necessary inches

That's for sure... its always those non-typical points thats the killer.

If Bill Winke Ever kills the "double g4" buck he's been after for the past few season, i think that buck has a decent chance of being near the 200" mark. its not perfectly symmetrical, but over the last few years the deer has surprisingly become more symmetrical.
