Quality Elk Bethel

Well, our group was fortunate enough to get drawn for the Archery Quality Elk in Bethel. September can't come soon enough!

How many elk hang out in Bethel in September?  A decent amount of locals?

This is a tag I always wondered about.  How many elk stay there during summer.

1,322.   All migrate out and up in mid Oct , about 2 weeks before mod fire elk opens.

that's pretty accurate, i've seen some elk in there all the way up to the first couple of weeks of oct. and then little to nothing after that in the usual areas.  Finding them now before the season is a must if you want to have a good chance.

Thaks Plat.  I've got 29yrs bumping around that hill.  I often see elk rubs that are only a couple weeks old during mod fire....at some surprisingly low elevations. Look at the alder swamps (there's your internet scouting hint of the day).

Good luck ,hope you stick a nice one!

There are plenty of Elk in that area. I was out there last year around this time up until early archery. Heading up there real soon to start scouting though. Hopefully we'll stick something!
