Not me, I put in for it. Would be nice to hunt the Blacktail rut and elk at the same time.

That hunt should have been a general buck hunt not quality in my opinion and I would have put in for it then. Hard to put that ahead of the entiat!nwhunter

just depends on the person and type of deer they prefer but there are some huge bucks in there during the rut who ever gets it should have no problem getting a mounter with a little work

its the time frame that makes it a great hunt.big blacktails get really stupid from nov 1 to the 10th or so depending on weather .  if you want to get the big elusive bucks thats the time. congrats on the draw.
is it tweeker season yet?

I also wouldn't call this a quality hunt.  Not because quality of the animals, because there are a few nice ones haunting the area, but because the conditions.  The first couple of days might be quality, but it is in an area that is hunted during modern elk (Nov 3-14).  The proximity to PA and Forks, along with a ton of ungated roads makes the area kind of popular.

:chuckle: the bucks are already following the does  :chuckle:
As for the area, I was still finding a few deer in that area last elk season.  The worst part was nearly every set of tracks (like the next day) would have cat tracks on top of them.  The dang cats were working OT in a few sections...would've been dead if it was for the 'spotted kitten rule'.
