Thats like hiring an artist for his skills, but while he begins to paint, you demand sketches of the art to come for you to see. I cannot speak for the dept. obviously, but I can understand why they would withhold certain info. Certain people display motives and actions, and you have to react to that for the good of what you are doing.

Actually, I have lots of tattoo's. I actually go to artists I trust to interpret what i want and they add their spin on it. Have yet to be disappointed with the results.

Yes, yes there is. Especially within government projects that are not secretive in nature.
They're not secretive in nature, but there is some sensitivity about locations, particularly denning and rendevous sites.  They keep that quiet to protect wolves from poachers.

I'm not sure if they should be posting every wolf sighting, suppossed wolf sighting, suspected sighting.... you get the idea.  It would be a big pain in the a$$...I would rather see that time go into field work.  I like that they're letting us know when they get a collar in a pack, which they're doing a lot of.  That's good information.

I would  like to go to the departments web site and click on so and so wolf and see where they're heading and where they've been, and seeing one cross the border would be celebration time.

I little honesty and cooperation from the WDFW would go a long way.
By the way, are those little tiny tats or is our 'friend' totally inked?

Iam amazed that no one has made a Freedom of information act request on this info... I find it especially hard to belive that the cattlemen Association have not thought of or done this.  :twocents:

BTW A simple map like the one shown with the basic dots on a blank state map are MORE than enough detail for most people... Even if you said there are 2 collard wolves in the Methow valley, thats a pretty big area... Not exactly giving away thier real time position.  :twocents:

In Oregon ranchers can get updates about wolf locations in their area via text. And there are quite a few hoops you have to jump through to get that priviledge.

I think since it's our tax money being used we have the right to know where the wolves are at all times.  Many of us would be very excited to go take pictures of these beautiful beasts.  I've talked to multiple farmers, ranchers and hunters that carry a camera just for that purpose.  We need to locations!
