Sinlahekin Buck Hunt
« on: June 10, 2012, 08:00:08 PM »
Excited! Drew one of the witetail buck tags for Nov. 1st-20th. Never been there before. This will be my first year focusing somewhere other than Chiwawa. Been researching all day on past topics. Only real input I'm looking for is best week to hunt? Thinking of hunting Nov. 10th-18th. Thoughts? Looks to be 36% success last year for this hunt. Excited to put in some time and hope to connect with a decent whitey to go with my mullies.

Seems to be a good week. the later the better I think as the rut tends to be later for the whitetails I think.

Kinda what I was going with. Have a week of vacation left so that's how the calander allows me to maximize my time. Thanks.

I had the chewuch tag last year and the week I was there was slow. no rut activity yet being the first week. but my buddy who lives there said two.days after I left it was like a light switch turned on. oh well. The time your wanting to go I would imagine would be prime time

You fill your tag? Monster always a great goal, but really just looking for an "average" buck being I have no whitetail to my name.

I have seen some dandy white tail bucks come out of that hunt.  There is a fair amount of private on the north end so maybe looking for permission early would be the way to go.  With that being said there was a beauty taken just north of blue lake off the valley floor.  I personall have not seen many white tail in that area.  More further north in the farm fields.  Good Luck.

Thanks! Yeah definitely wish it was a late mullie tag. Put in for swakane and chiwawa for that. This is more a chance and reason to hunt somewhere new.
