Basicallu as Kirkl Said.  I find them alot this time of year on the breaks of Umptanum creek or above it on the north side.  It tends to be cooler.  Durr road then down across the creek and climb the mountaintowards the tower.  About half way up, pull off and either glass your butt off into the fingers coming off into the creek or start hiking along the tops on that side.  Bare in mind they don't stand out like sore thumbs or like they show in the movies.  I don't see them down on the river much this time of year, though I just about hit one coming off from Selah Buttes down to the river less than a week ago.

P.s.  That is LOADED with rattlesnakes, and they are moving alot now back towards home and they are in the dog days and not rattling too well so pay attention.

yeah we glassed that bowl across from the dam last weekend, then drove out the green dot road that ends near the top of that ridge above the dam and hiked out to get a closer look, well have to check out the road that runs along the ridge above umptanum creek tomorrow and dont worry bone ill have my .357 with some bird shot along just in case

saw two really nice rams feeding this morning in the yak/canyon on my way to work.  was going to take a pic but was running behind somewhat.  both were respectable rams.  just above the area where the hillside gave way a few yrs. back.  About a couple mile's up past the swing bridge on the rt. side of the road.  there are several canyons they hang around in that area.  pm me for more info.  i see them everyday.
Work sucks!!!! I should be shed hunting
