LONG BEACH?
« on: August 15, 2008, 06:57:10 PM »
Pretty new to bear hunting.  Just wondering if anyone had hunted the Long Beach Pen.   I heard that there were a few in that area and wondered if it was all private.  The maps on WDFW look like there is some state land and Federal Park Service land there.  Anyone have any info on this area?   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've never hunted the Long Beach unit. However, I understand that the Long Island unit (699) has plenty of bear. But it's an archery only unit and doesn't open until September 2nd.

I saw that about Long Island. That would be a fun hunt.  I was actually more intersted in GMU 684.  I may just have to take a drive up there and look around.  I think I'll also have to start looking for boats to go to Long Island in Sept.  I have head its thick though on the island.
