Saddle Scope Mount for Shotgun

Looking for feedback on using a saddle scope mount on a Winchester Model 120 12 gauge. Any successful users or unsuccessful?? I would like to mount a scope this way if I can find one that will fit my gun rather than having a gunsmith drill my shotgun. We don't shoot a lot of slugs through it, my dad is going to use it on a Vashon Second Deer Permit on Private Land this year.

How long of shots are you expecting? I bet you guys will find the shotty shoots great without a scope. Long barrel, nice ramp, front bead, bet you are shooting a four inch group at 100 yards.
