Best Conical for Elk
« on: October 09, 2022, 05:23:06 PM »
Since I just move to Idaho I need to get rid of my Harvestor 300 grainers and use an all lead Conical. Any suggestions would be very helpful

Thanks, Dave

440 grain Parker Hydracon. I promise you won’t be disappointed. They are extremely accurate and penetrate DEEP. Also, they are made in Idaho.

I have found the Bull Shop .503x400 LGP has worked very effectively for me and several friends'

Dan's web site is somewhat difficult to navigate - if you have any problems let me know.

This LGP was recovered from an elk shot at 180 yards

We are shooting this with 90 grains of T7 and using a MMP 50 cal. Ballistic sub-bridge as a wad.

And yes these are legal in Idaho because they are not attached to the bullet.

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

I will give a plug for Bullshop’s lead conical. I’ve used them in a 50 cal white muzzleloader and also in a 54 cal TC Renegade. Wool wad and sub base. Have shot 1 cow and one 5x5 rag horn bull. Bullets preformed awesome.
