If they are going to ignore it, I feel bad about leaving a doe that I hit.  I did stop and clear the road.

Last Spring I saw a fawn get demolished by a semi in Clark County. I pulled over and called fish and wildlife to check how the salvage thing works. I told the officer exactly where I was, and she didn't mention any problems with the county I was in.

I didn't end up taking the deer. The truck had hit it going probably 60 mph...there was just nothing left that was useable.

Just my experience.

edit: where does it say we can't salvage in those counties? I'm having trouble finding it

Thanks for the map link. Didn't know that existed. Can see my report and location pin.

Hopefully that map can be used to make for safer crossing at some locations. I can see where my brother's salvage tag is pinned but they are off by a few miles unless he gave them bad location data.

A bunch of the pinned locations are off quite a bit.  If you click on the dot, it will give you the actual information of the animal and where it got hit.  Not sure why some are 50-60 miles off.

That makes sense I checked but it was still in the wrong location. Either way, its a great program IMO as long as it doesn't tempt people to poach and then report as salvaged.
