I should have phrased my question better, I know dumping apples will bring deer in, Im talking a location that I cant get there and bait everyday.. Like deer co cane or trophyrock or something like that that is suppost to reactivate when it rains and keep deer checking it out for acouple months or so. Anybody try them or somethin similiar??

trace mineral salt with selenium seems to bring them in and keep them coming back. You can pack in a 50 lb bag and it should last a while.

Just go to your nearest feed store and ask for bag or block of salt. A 50lb block lasts a long time!

It is in one bag and it costs me $9 per bag. Just go to any feed store or grange and you should be able to find it.

 :yeah:

i get mine at Big R or Aslin finch. And also if your just starting a site u wont get the results like u would have the last couple of months. The visiting of sites real drops off now with the hot weather and the lush green food drying up and once antlers stop growing these sites become pretty dormant till next spring. The best thing for getting deer in now will be feed

I use a mixture of stock salt (1 part), Dicalcium Phosphate (1 part) and trace mineral salt (2 parts). I purchase all of it at the feed store for less than $50 and it makes 200 pounds of mineral which is good for 10 sites. I break up the soil in roughly a 3 foot diameter and 6 inches deep. I pour 20 pounds of the mixture on the site and mix with the soil. If it is a new site I refresh with 10 lbs 5-6 months later and a full mixture once per year after that. It is best if I get them out just before a rain. I prefer to start these just after the snow melts.

Deer Arces block. Buy it at Eich's in Republic. The deer love them. I've used them and the deer go to that everytime.
