Repainting full body goose decoys.
« on: August 28, 2012, 12:16:54 PM »
I have 4 dozen bigfoot goose decoys that have some years use on them and are in need of a toutch up. Was wondering if anyone would know what paint to use of if anyone has done it before. Any information would help thanks.

I know a lot of guys use the Krylon "Plastic" friendly paints in flats.  Lock, Stock & Barrel have great paints that would work as well.  You may want to google this as many guys have painted them on Duckchat and the Refuge forums.  There should be some good info on decoy prep, repaints and flocking kits.

Thanks i have googled it and seen how some people repainted their decoys just seeing if there was anyone on here that has any info or experance. The more the better. I just got done flocking the heads and they look great. I even thought about pulling out the wifes airbursh and seeing what i could do.

If you have an airbrush, I would go that direction.  I use a flat white on the tails along with a flat black and throw some varing browns and blacks in with the air brush.  I will have to see what colors I actually use.  Air brush will give you the realism, if you have the artistic touch and eye.
