Good news actually even if you don't like to see tons of hunters in the field. People bitch about too many hunters, but it's the only way we can keep our sport alive. From some of the news I've read in the last few years our numbers have dwindled here in Washington state so for me this is good news.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

It's easier for the "uneducated inbetweeners" to understand numbers when used in comparison. Hunters will be pro hunting/fishing, anti's will most likely always be anti...but the in between types in our government and elsewhere who don't have a strong opinion might open their eyes a bit wider if you tell them that hunters/fishers spent more money than people did on iPods and iPads combined!  :yike: That gun, bow & ammo sales is equal to bicycle sales in the U.S. These are NOT small numbers!!!

I think the biggest problem with more hunters and fishers is ensuring the proper land management practices necessary to sustain these increased numbers. We need to hold our representatives more accountable for their handling of our precious resources.

I love the outdoors and am happy to welcome more into the ranks and hopefully meet up with more good and ethical people.  ;)
