thats up my alley...next year...when do you need to formalize this...there are two of us.

Montana Mega Meat Hunt
I have a rancher who wants me to take out 40 to 60 whitetail doe deer yearly. In Montana you can buy up to 7 tags per person. I need groups of two or more hunters, 1 or 2 guides will keep everybody on productive deer hunts and help gut and skin. Most hunting will be in blinds or stands watching crops that the deer are damaging. Hunt cost is $350 for the first deer hunt, expand your hunt for additional deer for $250 each hunt. No shoot/no pay policy. Hunt up to 7 deer for only $1850. Book for this year or next year, first come first serve on available dates. 60 doe is the max, when I hit that number we will no longer have any available. $100 deposit books a hunt. Plan 2 to 4 days for a hunt depending on how many deer you want. If you need to hunt an extra day than planned we will make it work.

Boy, those Montana wolves aren't doing their job of keeping the deer population down to ruin hunting for everybody so the greenies can win the battle and get rid of hunting forever. But Bear Paw will help them out!

This sort of ruins your whole argument doesn't it Dale? ;)

First, I find it pretty classless that you would invade this topic with your wolf loving rubbish. (I had thought you might have more class than some of the other wolf lovers, guess I was wrong!)

Next, I will point out that it's fortunate for the local residents who hunt and fortunate for out-of-state hunters, this is one area of Montana which hasn't been invaded with wolves yet. There are still a few areas where humans can look forward to harvesting a few deer for the freezer.

I am in eastern Washington, around the Kennewick area.  If there is still availability and anyone is interested, I would be up for driving to eastern Montana.

I have relatives around Billings and head that way fairly often. It's about a 10 hour drive from here. I have a 4x4 crew cab dually diesel with plenty of room and capacity for hauling gear and deer.  My time is pretty flexible.  I have plenty of room at my place for folks to park their rigs.  I could take up to three other folks and still be really comfy. I figure it's probably about $400 worth of fuel round trip.  I grew up and spent most of my life in Alaska, snow and winter type driving don't bother me.

If there is anyone that would like to buddy up and go just drop me a PM. It sounds like a fun meat trip for sure.

There are many areas in Montana where the deer population is down significantly in Montana due to drought, disease, fires, and wolves, but we are fortunate our leases are in fairly good shape, we are seeing lots of deer and having 100% success again this year on mature bucks and doe deer.

2012
I can still fit in a few hunters this year, I could take 1 or 2 buck hunters and they want us to kill several more doe deer this year on one of the properties if we can.

2013
We have plenty of availability for next year. If there are any specific dates you need to hunt, please let me know as soon as possible so we can block those dates out for you.

How sure are you on the 7 does in one game area? The reason I ask is my buddy lives in sheperd which is 20 miles east of billings and is allowed only 2 does in his area,1 whitetail,1 mule deer,He hunts down around ashland and has allready bagged his buck and 2 does down there in that game area. The way he explained it is yes you can shoot 7 does and a buck, but your does cannot come from just one area.

There are different allocations of doe tags. If you get on the MT Fish, Wildlife, and Parks website, go to online licensing, enter your info like you are going to buy a license, then look at the various options for antlerless and you will see what I mean. There are options for 7 tags and there was another option for 1 tag that recently disappeared. These various quotas run out at various times and I have been told that at least one option requires a buck tag first. When we were in MT last week we were only able to get 1 tag for our area. One of my hunters this year purchased two doe (antlerless tags). In previous years I have had hunters who purchased 3 to 4 tags.

My Advice: As soon as licenses go on sale hunters need to get their antlerless tags.
