DNR or not?

I have a link that shows my county and I know some of the areas in it are private and posted. The Problem is when I go through the other options on the map and it redraws it shows large tracts as DNR or it says in red a fire dist# and then has a and DNR or DEPT of Natural resources. So question would be is the land owners or leasures posting ilgally or just what?
any info is apreciated.

DNR land is open to the public, unless closed by the DNR..  even if someone has a cattle lease, the land is free to use.

IF someone has posted public land as private, then they are in the wrong.  Go to the local DNR office and get a current map... or go to the tax assessors office and get the ownership of certain plots from them..  in case there has been a land swap.

Up here, the ranchers that lease the grazing rights on DNR land cannot post it like they own it. It's our public land and they can't tell you to stay off of it. I was told this from by some big landwoners up here. They post it to keep people off of their " private hunting grounds ". Please correct me if this is B.S.

Camp... if there is someone posting DNR land, then they are doing so illegally.  Contact the local office, they will send the LEO to investigate... these government entities usually have little or NO knowledge of what is going on in a specific area, unless people like us hunters report it to them.

The dnr maps arent entirely correct either... noticed that when I went to scout an area that was posted so i checked the assesors website and sure enough it was private.

double check the assesors web site or at the county office if theyre not online. easiest way to know for sure.

Hate to tell you John, but it's a very low priority for the cops to do anything around here. Thank god we don't have a donut shop.............

Damn.. our DNR LEO was out every day during the wildfires.. patrolling and fining idiots that decided the closures did not mean them...

He told us one day where we could go shooting, the stopped and talked to us where we told him we would be, just to check on us..  Was very helpful about DNR land.

*censored* it turns out that IT's just who runs the fire dist in that area that sucks.
