I personally like a more raspy call, you can't go wrong with Bearmanric's calls, Rainshadow's calls or JPhelps calls! All three great sponsors of this site. They make beautiful and outstanding sounding calls.

I'm with Machias. I like raspy. Let Rick know you want a bear call and he will do you right.
Try using the search function. There are lots of threads on what calls to use.
Lots of ideas and opinions.

Been making near calls along time. Wood or antler. I have some sweet elk horn closed reeds tuned Raspy also awesome for coyote and bobcat. Rick

Raspy calls...
RR calls, rainshadow (i have not used phelps yet, but have seen nothing but good)...screery brand calls, etc.
