Cold Day with the pups
« on: January 12, 2013, 06:20:17 PM »
Gotta love hunting when it's 24 degrees.  It was a bit slow today.  I set up on the approach to a bend in a small slough.  That was the only open water where I was.  Set a few dekes in that bend.  Got a few birds to come in.  Nothing to brag about.  Anyways, I shot a few pic's.  The first is of my 2  girls hanging out behind my gillie blanket blind.  I just set it up as a shield as almost all birds will come from the direction it's facing.  The 2nd is the view looking at my gillie blanket.  This is the first time I have actually used it.  Shoved a few sticks in the ground and hung the blanket on it.  It's a little dark so in the future I'll probably lean some grass against it to breakup the green.  Ducks didn't seem to mind it.  The 3rd pic is a headshot of my young lab Bella who is watching for birds.  Her eyes alerted me to a few that I did not notice.

Good looking dog.  A day spent in the field with your pups is a always good day.

Nice.  You could have almost used a white sheet to hide behind.
