182 pound Minnesota Wolf!
« on: January 17, 2013, 10:14:32 AM »
My brother in law from Minnesota sent me this picture.  It was killed near Cook, Minnesota.  I didn't know Wolf's got this big.  He told me that the Picture is legit.  Thought I would share it with those that haven't seen it yet.

That is a beast.

I'm surprised it isn't in the 300 lb category.  ;)

Calling snopes.

Isn't the largest recognized wolf ever taken was a 175 pounder?   :yike:

Nice (dead) wolf, but I don't see anything close to 182 pounds.  I have a 100# dog and it looks pretty similar in size to me.  Some serious foreshortening going on in that pic.  If you look at the buckle on the sling of his rifle, it would cover his face.  Camera is in the grass.  Classic pose for making the animal look bigger than it is.

Still cool, though

The research I found online says the biggest ever killed in North America was 175 lb. And I have a 120 lb golden retriever and that looks considerably bigger than my dog.

I bet the dude holding that beast is at least 180 to 200 pounds, and that dog looks considerable bigger than him.  Good for the hunter trophy no matter what it weighs.

Who said you don't need more than 10 rounds to hunt?

Kill it.  Kill it dead.  And then kill it again.   That thing gives me the heebie-jeebeis and will visit me in my sleep.
