Arrow rest ?????? looking for suggestions

What he said. I love my smackdown pro. Even if you don't go with the smackdown I would recommend taking a look at limb driven rests and not anything that needs to be tied into the cables. Way easier to setup. You pull the cord tight and tie it to the limb. That is it. If I needed to, I could use a piece of boot lace to tie in my rest if my cord broke in the field.

 

I have had the Vaportrail Limbdriver for the last 5 seasons and I could not be happier since I finally stopped wasting time and money dealing with the Whisker Buiscut issues. The Limb Driver is also quite a bit easier to set up than cable actuated drop away rests plus they have a new model that is full containment now. I think the base one is around $80 and the new full containment one is around $120.

I went through this a couple of weeks ago. Similar variance of opinions/raging debate across the internet and other forums. Have fun with that…

I ended up swapping the biscuit for the Ripcord. Seemed pretty comparable to a QAD and it was available in my neck of the woods for a good price. We don’t really have a pro shop so I tuned everything myself. I definitely learned a thing or two…

My big issue with the rest is the fact that the containment arm doesn’t fit, as my cable guard was in the way (PSE Bow Madness).  I also ended up with some minor felt damage on the rest until I figured out that it wasn’t a timing issue, and that I needed to rotate my fletchings. I think a pro shop would have known that right off the bat and maybe steered to toward something different.

I keep trying to justify changing out my trophy ridge revolution for another QAD... I for one, or three if you count my wife and son, do not care for the rip cord for the simple fact that it does not stay up if you flinch, or have to let down you've got an arrow flopping around.

My Ripcord works great...except I keep snapping that long, plastic arrow retainment arm off. It tends to snag and break when I carry my bow in my pack, or it hooks on brush during the low prone crawl on a stalk. It is an issue and a huge suprise when you go to draw after a long stalk, and the arrow jumps out of the rest. I have been putting up with it, but this rest may be a little fragile for some hunting styles.

Am I the only one with this issue? The WB looks more fail safe.

I will second the the limb driver pro v. Simple and easy to setup and shoot. Another option is the trophy taker full containment, it to can be attached to the limb and works flawlessly.

Im glad someone brought this up. I absolutely love mine...great containment, not bulky like alot of others, and very effective. Never had any issues with it either.
