Ideal Products Inc Knife

Got this knife a couple months ago from my grandmother. It belonged to my grandfather who would be about 95 years old now if he were still around. Hrd2Find's old knife thread made me think of this one. I need to do a little digging online to see if I can learn something of the history of them. On the blade it says "Ideal Products Inc Made in Germany Sclingen."

Beautiful knives! Did your grandfather serve in WWII by chance? Wonder if he picked them up over seas?

Yes he did. He was in Europe. Landed on Omaha Beach. Was one of the Tough Hombres. The Ideal knife is the antler handled one. The other ones were made by RainShadow1 on here.

those are some nice looking older knives you have there. I'm curious as to why you learn as well. is your grandmother able to provide any more history? I'm learning a bunch of things I wasn't aware of about my fathers history just hard as the older family have all pasted on.

Only one of them is old. The antler handled one. The other 2 are probably 4 and 5 years old. Steve Tormala, RainShadow1 on here, made them for me. The black handled one 1st, and the ironwood handled one a year or so later.

I've been hooked on the older knives after doing the research. Rainshadow 1 has some nice knives he produces, would love someday to add one of his to go with the others I have.
