Idaho Bowhunting license questions???
« on: August 05, 2013, 08:30:49 PM »
Skimming through the regs and stumbled upon something that said out of state or first time bowhunters in ID need a hunter ed for archery or something from their state saying they are ok to bow hunt? Kinda confused me, shouldn't the Wa hunter ed work? Anyone know what im talking about and/or have an answer? thanks

Previous archery tag from Washington should work. That's what Montana wanted.
If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Make sure you buy the archery endorsement if you archery hunt Idaho. I might not be using the right term but the game wardens look for it.

In the ID regs there is a page that you can fill out. Basically you are saying that you have archery hunted in another state. Just a formality. I doubt that they even take the time to call and see if it is legit.

All that I did was fill out the affidavit.  It was about 5 years ago, but I think that I had to do it by mail and couldn't do it over the internet.  IF you have ever held an archery tag in any state you should be fine.  Then pay the extra $20 for the archery permit.

I hunted Idaho last year. Like everybody has said as long as you have hunted archery in another state you're good. Although they did tell me I had to write my Hunters Ed. Cert. # on my app. You might contact IDFG.
