Swarovski 10x42EL Binoculars
« on: November 16, 2013, 09:50:17 PM »
I've been shopping these binoculars for some time trying to save a few bucks by buying a used pair in good shape but haven't had any luck. Does anybody know of a person wanting to sell a pair? As expensive as they are it seems like it's easier just to buy a new pair and bite the bullet instead of playing the craigslist/eBay game. Kind of a random thread to start but thought I would throw it out there. Thanks in advance.

Swarovski's are very nice glass, but for the money, there probably going to cost you more  used than a new Vortex would cost,  I would go with Vortex.
Vortex has a life time warranty, and the difference between the to, there is a you-tube comparison between the Swarovski and Vortex, you should check out before you buy and old pair of Swarovski, not sure if the warranty transfers when they are sold, I know Vortex does.

You wouldn`t happen to have a link to the youtube video would you? I looked but couldn`t find anything.

If you want the best you're going to have to pay for it.  I would stick with Swarovski.  If you haven't been watching ebay that would be a good place to watch as their are always a few pairs listed it seems like.

There was a pair on here listed this last week.  You may want to look in the classifieds.  It was a very good price.  id say for the price they might be gone already, but you never know.

Just constantly keep checking all the sites classified ads.  I recently sold a pair for a good price, and saw several others for sale when I was selling.

Thanks for the input. I ended up buying a pair through a guy off of Craigslist. Brand new in the box but a demo pair and at a pretty good discount.

You made a good decision on the swaros.  I did a lot of shopping before I got mine.  Awesome glass

I apologize for the slow response. I ended up paying $2,000 for a pair of 10x42EL HD's.
