Kayaking :)
« on: November 20, 2013, 12:28:10 PM »
Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone on here from the SW Washington area (Vancouver) is into whitewater kayaking.  I am just getting into it and am looking for someone to kayak with.

I bought two basic model kayaks this last summer, but they are nowhere near the type needed for white water.  This was my first summer getting into it.  However, ironically, this was also the first year in which I took a whitewater rafting trip (Maupin) and had a blast.

I think I'd start with something smaller and easier like the Kalama before I'd bite off something like the White Salmon.

What'd you have in mind?

Pigfuzz (You Law Enforcement?  :) )  You should make a trip over to the Lochsa River in Idaho next Memorial Day weekend.  Well worth the trip.  Check out Youtube and look up Lochsa River madness 2008.  Great stuff.  I do alot of white water trips, but I am in a 16 foot Aire Jag cataraft.
