Why I insist on sharp broadheads!
« on: December 24, 2013, 11:12:40 PM »
This is a video I shot with a CamStrap camera mount from fly4fish.  It shows a shot and the resulting blood trail on a muley doe that I got this late season with my 2nd doe tag.  She went 35 yards on a dead run and tipped over from a heart/double lung shot.  My elk this year did the same but made it 100 yards at a dead run on a double lung shot with as good of a blood trail, but I didn't get it on video.

My point in posting this is not to show my success but to show what can, and should, happen when you put a sharp broadhead solidly in the vitals.  It only takes seconds to kill one with good shot placement and super sharp blades.  Martin Pantera 60# bow, Easton Axis arrows, and Slick Trick broadheads.

These are all the same video; just different ways of posting to help all to be able to watch easily.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

How far was the shot?
It was the exact distance I moved my sight to before the shot.  :chuckle:

No problem, but some inevitably would want to go there, and that wasn't my intent.
