Multi-Season Deer Permit
« on: October 08, 2014, 02:09:05 PM »
Got the Multi-Season this year. I am modern rifling it, so season starts soon. I have been trying to figure out "what exactly" does a multi-season Deer tag allow me to do? How would ya'll describe it?

I would describe it as a tag that allows you to hunt mulitple seasons using weapons pertaining to that season.

Oh that makes sense. So with one permit you can hunt each season with weapons pertaining to that season.

I know it should be easy to grasp, but I can be a bit of a brick sometimes.

You've got it. One tag to fill, multiple seasons and weapon choices to use. Also, say you are an avid bowhunter....you can sling arrows during rifle season. However....you can't reverse that and shoot a rifle during bow season.

So basically you already missed two seasons you could have hunted early season archery and muzzleloader.

I hope you're prepared to hunt the late archery or late muzzleloader season... otherwise you just wasted $140 on your multi season tag. Of course, I've heard of guys who also "wasted" their money by killing a deer on September 1st with a bow.  :chuckle:

i think its worth it, i use it to have it in case i see a big buck while hunting archery elk, and the same while helping buddies hunt during muzzleloader elk, then I horn hunt rifle season, and then i have late archery and muzzleloader season to hunt basically with no pressure and fill the tag...

Does the WDFW actually issue you 3 tags?  I bought my usual muzzleloader tag, then bought the multiseason for the first time this year.   I don't recall receiving 2 more tags.

Have you purchased the tag yet or did you just draw it?

You should have ONE tag that says "multi season" on it. Not three. You only get one tag because you can only harvest one deer. If your tag says muzzleloader you need to exchange it for the correct tag.

if you drew it but didn't purchase before Sept 1st you are no longer able to purchase it, like mentioned above you only get one deer but you can hunt from sept 1 - dec 31st with only a few times off.... with the correct weapon and area choices.

 :yeah:

Which means you are only able to hunt modern firearm now, as if you never had it.

There is still late muzzy and archery season that he could hunt if he had a ml or bow.
