let me know how it goes, I'm a noobie and just went out to ravensdale area this past weekend, no luck calling anything at one of the clearcuts after a few mile hike up the mountain. would be interested if you have any luck.

This year I have been in that area quite a bit . It's tough ! Look for fresh sign , every time I find fresh dropping and call I've gotten movment. Wind is everything and try to setup so they can't wind you .That is also tough up there , I've been busted so many times this year it's kind of funny . Their up there , they are just scattered and you have to work to find them . Jasnt , nice read  :tup:Thanks

:yeah:
I found a book, pre internet days, called the Varmint Hunters Digest, by Jim Dougherty.
A lot of what I learned beyond shoot'em when ya see'em, came from this book.  This is late 60's if my failing memory serves me correctly  :)
Problem was that this guy did a lot of hunting in the Calif desert.  While we have some arid places in this state, our high desert terrain is different than their low desert stuff.
Learned to adapt some of what I learned from his book to my area, plus a boat load of trail and error and I began taking Yotes on a fairly regular basis.
I can tell you that it's much harder today than it was back then.  Back then, few guys were actually hunting varmints beyond shoot'em when ya see'em.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

When you get a chance, check out www.gofoxpro.com-Forums.  A lot of great info and great people that share info.  Not pushing the E-caller (they do work good)  :chuckle: but the forum is really helpful.
