Riffle lake report.
« on: January 21, 2015, 12:35:38 PM »
Anyone fished Rifle lake lately?

Thinking about giving it a whirl but I don't even know if the water is high enough to launch my boat.

Any report?

I don't know about Riffe, but I took Jasmine up to Alder the other day, and it was at or near full pool.

Call the park before 9am. Should be somebody in the booth. Pretty sure the launch is usable.

Even if Riffe is low, the Mossy Rock Park ramp is usable and the Silvers still bite well.
When I fish Riffe, I am more concerned about wind then water level but I was in a 13 ft Smoker Craft Alaskan. I can't remember not limiting.

Sounds like an awesome weekend, and a good load for the smoker, LOL
My son and I use to go early to Riffe for a limit on Silvers, and hit Alder on our way home for a limit of 10 Kokes each.
Alder Kokes do not count against other catch limits.
Word of advise for the Silvers at Riffe. Kill them when you bring them in the boat. If you keep them in a bucket alive, they will jump out on high speed runs  :yike:
This happened three different times. The first two times we thought we were going crazy with our limit counts coming up short at the dock. The third and last time the fish landed in my lap.
Last year there was a Blackmouth in the high 20 lb range caught from the rocks by the damn on a bobber. Beautiful fish!
