1st bear of the year
«
on:
April 22, 2007, 08:10:00 PM »
I drew a spring capitol peak tag and today was my 2nd day out. Its tough competing with the motorcycles
If I had a Honda tag I'd be set
.
Even with all the noise I saw 15 elk and 1 bear that was too far off to get a good look at. The elk really surprised me, I know they are there but never see them.
anyone else having any luck on spring bear?

Just got back from the Capitol. Got wet on Saturday, dried out on Sunday, called in 5 deer, and the neighbors dog. No fresh peels, but did find some fresh scat. Probably have to take a break from the hunt next weekend. Did see a lot of elk sign in the area we hunted. We were in the motorized trail area, but weren't botthered too badly. Camp was quiet and clean too. Is it early or are they getting a handle on the scumbags?

My cousin drew the Kapowsin tag and missed a bear Friday. Good luck to all you other tag holders.

Action - if you need someone to call (or glass) let me know. I can usually head out at the drop of a hat, except this weekend as I am hunting in Copalis.

My dad drew a spring bear tag for the blues. And, I'm leaving for the Quinault Res. on Monday for a guided hunt. Can't wait!!! I'm hoping to fill a life long dream of sticking one of those bad boys with my bow. I went over two years ago and shot one with my rifle after being there for about three hours. Good guide!! he had done his homework.
As mentioned, good luck to those holding tags.
