Sig 1911 45 My early B-Day present
« on: August 18, 2015, 09:20:27 PM »
Been looking at a Sig 1911 for weeks and seeing all the rest of you getting yourself early birthday presents the pressure was more than I could bear.  Just your run of the mill 1911 with a couple upgrades.

I was all set to get a AAC TiRant or Silencerco Octane going for it but after talking to Sig Sauer Silencers I think I'm going to hold out a little longer and wait for their SRD 45 suppressor to hit the shops.

That's a nice gun man. I'm not to familiar with the 1911's, how do they compare to Kimber? I have a Kimber mountain ascent and really like it

I'm not sure how Sig's 1911 compare to Kimbers 1911's but I know Kimber makes some really nice stuff, that's for sure.

Couch?  I wish I could at least get the couch.  No, I've been sleeping with the dog and we don't even have a dog.

I hope you don't mind, but I've pretty much placed ALL the blame on you.

Nice piece of steel there! I have a Sig 1911 as well and love it.  I'm sure you will love yours too.  As for comparison to Kimber 1911's... I would say Sig's are at least equal to the Kimber's.  At least the ones I have shot.   :twocents:  I wish I would have gotten a model with a bottom rail like yours.  That is my only regret.

Nice pistol for sure! I"m a big fan of 1911's and the Sig makes a great pistol. The traditionalists complain about the external extractors and integral feed ramps but I think those are all upgrades.

When I was first looking at getting a 1911 I talked to a friend of mine that's a gun builder and he pretty much told me the same thing.  With hot rods and muscle cars I'm more of a "retromod" person than I am a "purest" so Sigs flavor of 1911 is a good fit for my taste.  My other Sig has been flawless so that just made it an even easier choice.

Mongo Hunter, she doesn't really shoot all that straight so even without any warning, you'll, probably, be ok.  But, fyi, she's a southpaw so you really gotta keep your eye on that left hand because if let her work the jab she can really, bring it, with that left if it gets loaded up. ;)
