Are grouse terrtitorial?

I was at a place last week and had a ton of grouse there. Wondering  if they stick around ?
If its brown knock it down

Was it on the east side with water easily available?

Yes, completely. Wind will decide on where they hang in the territory from my experience.

Bird populations done well this spring ...there has been a crap load shot around my place ..better getcha some ....Nothing better than grouse breast for din din !!

I have places that I can expect to see a grouse just about every time.
 I thought you ment are they like confrontational.  I had one attacking my truck as I drove by slowly.  I thought he accidently flew into my side window the first time, but when I came back by he did it again. He bounced off my drivers side window, and than was flying along tapping on my back window. I was only creeping along at like 2mph. I never had one do that before :chuckle:

Ruffed grouse will start dispersing in October and then bunch up again in late November/December. Blues will go higher I believe as we get closer to winter.

Grouse all day every day so far at the wallow im hunting, plenty of them, guess still water is a magnet for them.  Got one that is really fond of a log thats 15 yards from my living room window too.  Thought about shooting him for a half a second, but nah.
