youth cow tag. multi GMU
« on: September 24, 2015, 10:55:12 AM »
I have a cow tag for manastash unit for muzzy. My boy has a youth tag for GMU 340, 346, 336, 342. My original plan was to go into Manastach try and get us both a cow. I think the plan now will be to go into little naches unit and focus on his cow tag. As there should be very little pressure seeing how general muzzy is not open in that area. I would  be extremely excited if my boy can get  a elk on his first year. went up yesterday and scouted around. never seen any animals but did see some sign in the lower elevations. going to head back up sunday for 1 final look before next weekend. any suggestions on where to go in unit 346?

I don't have much experiance in 346 but I think your odds are much better in that unit. The elk in 340 seem to head for another county due to the insane amount of hunting pressure out there.

Don't forget, there will be an additional 44 hunters in 346 with quality bull tags at the same time. (15 modern and 29 muzzleloader).

Good luck, should be a fun hunt even if there are a few other hunters.
