Traditions Vortek ramrod
« on: October 08, 2015, 02:41:53 PM »
I just picked up a new Traditions Vortek NW Magnum 30" barrow 50cal. I don't like the ramrod it came with. I've done a little looking online but I thought I'd ask here. I one it came with you have to unscrew the end turn it around and screw it back in to get the right length to load the bullet and for cleaning. I can't use the type of bullet end that I like to use with the one that the gun came with. It's a bullet loader end with no threads.

Tagging. I'm also interested in this aswell. I have a pursuit and I really dislike that ram rod for that very reason

Same problem here. The ramrod for my Knight Disc Extreme fits diameter and length wise into the Vortec just fine. The end of it is internally threaded with internal slide rod for cleaning. You can thread accessories into either end.

I shoot this same rifle, I just leave the end sticking past the barrel. It does not interfere with the bullet as it comes out of the barrel.

Not much else you can do if you hope to reload any sort of quick. I thought this one of the most stupid designs. I shoot Barnes Sabots and have the Barnes bullet starter and it will not screw in the end of the ramrod too! I am not sure why they did this!!!!

I don't have a problem with the rod past my barrel, w/a 30" barrel you have to if you want to quick load a follow up shot. I just dislike the end of this rod, it has no threads just a bullet loader end.

They failed majorly on this ramrod. I agree. I've made due with it but they need to address it.

The end of my pursuit ramrod fits the Barnes Mz's perfectly aswell as the bloodlines. No need for the Narnia bullet starter...

Is it threaded on the end? I like to use a spin jag bullet loader. The bullet spins with the rifling as you push it down.
