Not buying the MS deer
« on: April 18, 2016, 06:09:01 PM »
Why do they screw Muzzy hunters by moving the deer and elk hunting into 1 week.  I hunt totally different areas for each.  I can't pull my bow any more, I will hunt muzzy for elk, so no muzzy deer.  No need to buy the tag.

If it was still 1 week for deer, and a different week for elk, then game on.....

WDFW, you lost a tag purchase

so if you chose not to buy it, don't they sell them to the unsuccessful applicant's?

If so you really didn't hurt them.

I'm sure someone else is willing to play 3 card Monte.

That doesn't help if you wanted to put in for special permits in different hunting methods.

The op has a valid point that seems to be escaping some on here,The fact that we all put in for these tags before the new regs come out every year does change some minds when they do come out.I will be buying my tag but for those that decide not to  :dunno: seems like its your right to me.  :twocents:

I think the OP meant that he is not buying a ML deer tag due to early general muzzy deer and elk seasons running concurrently. I too am a muzzy hunter and have been bitten by these seasons. I focus on elk and where I hunt is tough for deer opportunity. Outside of special permit apps my ML deer tag has never done me any good. Never even fired my ML at a deer. However I do feel the pain of some in this thread as I too did not get an MS deer tag which I would've bought before the draws. If needed I will buy one over the counter when they are available.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

Thankfully tentative season dates are available in early February, well before the MS application deadkine. They don't work for everyone but demand is greater than supply.

So, the op is supposed to look out for you and other hunters? He doesn`t owe any of us anything, he did what was best for him and good on him for doing so
