Cool idea, but i don't see anything about it that's a game changer. I wouldn't like the molded in handles, i like the rope style handles on my RTIC and it keeps ice plenty long enough. Still half the price of yeti. mine has had ice in it since Friday night and it's barely melted. :twocents:

Not me.  I want big heavy handles that I can get a big heavy hardened chain through to lock them down with.  I have RTC that has only rope and cannot leave it out overnight and I have Grizzly's that can be locked down.  The only thing I don't like about the RTCs is that they cannot have a chain run through the handles to lock them up.

i use the cable lock, just like they have for yeti. A bolt cutter will defeat pretty much any chain or cable so i just try not to leave mine where theft is a big issue. But chit happens i guess.

I guard against what is known as a "crime of opportunity" with the chain and locks.

A crime of opportunity is a crime that is committed without planning when the perpetrator sees that he/she has the chance to commit the act at that moment and seizes it. Such acts have little or no premeditation.

Generally speaking with high end cooler theft in a campground also involves drunkards.

I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about big heavy hardened chains when you're running said chain through plastic handles. A hacksaw and a little elbow grease will leave you cooler-less in a hurry if they want it bad enough.

reminds me of those steering wheel locks that hook the brake pedal to prevent auto theft.  3 swipes with a hacksaw and they cut the steering wheel

I just don't get buying these expensive coolers.
My 70.00 Walmart cooler  will keep meat froze for a week with proper ice placement and with some dry ice even longer.

Just don't get it.
:yeah: If I had $400 to spend on a cooler, I'd spend it on ammo or a new gun, or a weekend date with my honey, Mrs. PMan. No, it'd be a new gun.

I use the tow chain that I already have in a tool bag in the truck w/a few other odds and ends like jumper cables.  I snapped a couple padlocks onto the handle of the bag and have used both to secure various items ranging from my old Mad River canoe to bicycles, generators or coolers.

Sounds like you need to start camping in different places.  I have never even thought of locking a cooler up.  Never had one stolen either.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice
