Bye bye G26, hello P320?
« on: June 20, 2017, 09:55:22 AM »
So this has been eating at me a long time. I have been considering selling my Glock 26 for one of the new Sig p320's (before the military contract BTW). I got to hold one at a gun show thinking it was just another polymer gun...man was I wrong, thing felt great and the trigger sorry to say is much better than a Glock one.

Now I have over $800 invested in my G26 between sights, holsters, mags ect. and getting the Sig I would be pretty much starting over. so my question is for those of you who own a new P320 and maybe even traded from a Glock. is it worth it? Is the Sig THAT much better that its worth swapping everything over.

I really liked the HK VP9sk but they screwed it up making it only a 10rd mag. The Sig Subcompact is 12rds without any modifications and the Subcompact is the one I'm more interested in although the Compact is not off the table.

Any reviews or help would be appreciated. thanks guys!

I have several P320's and been running them since they first came out. I have been 100% satisfied with them. They are all very accurate and have given me no issues. I have sold every single glock I have ever bought. I think they are a much more reliable and a better fit for me. I didn't think I would ever shy away from springfield as my primary carry gun but the sigs are with me a lot of the time now.

So overall even though ill probably only get $600 for all my Glock stuff and cost me over $800 to switch to the sig you would say its worth it?

I just did it, thousands of rounds thru glocks, sold my 19 and my 43, bought a P320F 9mm and a P320f 45.
The grip angle is what sold me. Soft shooting, accurate (slightly better than MY glocks) very reliable. I like them. I find the grip angle very similar to my 1911's.
My glocks were 100% reliable I would never bad mouth them. The sig just fits me better.
Now that I have two fire control groups I am shopping barrels, slides, frames etc. Lots of fun. The trigger change has taken some practice to adapt.

Really the only one who can answer your question is you.
Is it worth it to you, too shoot a pistol you much prefer?
Or do you continue with a pistol that works, but might not be your favorite?

At different points in my life I would have answered those questions differently then I do now.
I have the means to shoot what I wish, not what just works, or something I feel I have settled for.
I would tell you to go with the pistol you enjoy shooting the most.

FYI, I have never got the amount I have put into any of my pistols that I have sold.

If you're gonna get a P320, buy the 357 SIG.

I have been kicking this around as well. I am thinking about trading my Dan Wesson, pre CZ 1911 with a 3 digit serial number for a 320 in 45. I just don't carry the 1911 like I thought I would, and I have had it for probably 15 years. I absolutely love the feel of the 320, and I do want one.

If you're gonna get a P320, buy the 357 SIG.

The 357Sig is hands down my favorite pistol cartridge.  I have a 229 in 357Sig and it is one of my all time favorite handguns.

BUT, if you plan on shooting it a lot, keep in mind ammo cost almost 50% more for the 357Sig than it does for a 9mm.

I have the 250 compact that holds 13+1 that I carry in the desert. I bought 50 rounds for $40 at North 40.

I'm defiantly sticking with the 9mm. I love the .357 sig but I shoot my "Serious use" guns ALOT and 9mm is still so freaking cheap. now I'm trying to decided if I want to go with the compact (15+1) or the Sub compact (12+1).

I might as well go with the compact I'm thinking.

Who has them in stock?

:chuckle: County Line Shooting Sports in McKenna has them in 9mm at least. compact/sub compact, get a different grip frame and change it
I have heard getting one in 45 makes it easier to go to 9mm/357sig/40. I guess some of the smaller caliber cannot go to 45, BUT I am not sure.
Also in each size, "compact" etc you can get small/med/and large grips for each.
You can put a 4 inch barrel on a full size frame for a high cap. short barrel carry gun. :IBCOOL: parts are for sale all over.
