West Klickitat Muzzy Buck permit
« on: June 24, 2018, 12:07:07 PM »
I drew the West Klickitat muzzy buck hunt Nov 30- Dec 8. Anyone hunt that the last few seasons? I hunted it when it was a quality hunt 7 or 8 years ago and got one, but am curious how it’s been lately. It’s also open for elk muzzloader 3 pt or better or cow at the same time. Should be interesting. Anyone have luck with elk hunting this unit? I’ve already gone through the archives. I guess head to the north end of the unit towards Adams for elk or around the outskirts of the refuge???

Late muzzy elk in 578 is nov 21- dec 8th at 3 pt min or antlerless now.

Hope for weather for the elk. And u shouldn’t have a problem with the deer!

My 12 year old son drew this youth any buck tag for modern deer season, is there any good public access ? We have never been in the area and plan on making a few trips sown there this summer to do some scouting and  try to learn the area. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

  I pulled the November archery tag. Blocks of state land with easy access scattered throughout 578.  I'll probably hunt public land as much or more than private I have access to.
Good Luck!

We are planning a trip down this weekend to get our bearings on the unit and to check out where to set up camp. Its always the fun part just learning a new area.
