The shedding of velvet has begun

 on the 12th my 21/2 and 31/2 had fuzzy horns, you could tell it was drying and shrinking, on the 13th all velvet is gone.

Saw some small frsh rubs on Sunday while elk scouting. Also saw some spikes in full velvet.

its been to smoky to go glass but I’m guessind no on the deer. Couple weeks out yet

Yes

I'm curious.  What, if any, effect did your feeding program have on their ultimate antler size.  Do you think that they are larger than they would have been without the winter feeding?  I'm assuming they carried more body weight through the winter.  Are their antlers appreciably larger than those nice bucks that frequent your spot or did they end up similar to those prior to initiating the feeding program?

Our back yard buck still has not started shedding velvet.  Last pic I have of him was Aug. 6th.

Saw a bladed spike buck on Friday with no velvet in the islands, did seem a little early though.

As far as i have seen down here in the klickitat area most of the deer are still in velvet. Havent seen a buck in almost a week now though. Tell ya what, all this smoke is not awesome.

Had two 4 pt basket rack WT’s at my place this morning in North Spokane, one was full velvet while the other had fully shedded.
