With area nine limited to hardly any fishing this year
Decided I should get a little lake boat
Probably 60s vintage
$150
3 quarts paint
New 3/4 plywood for seats
New trim and fasteners
New Minn Kota
New battery

The body is aluminum, right?  what kind of paint did you use?  I have a Canoe I want to strip and paint.

I restored one like that when I was a kid, but mine had a wooden keel.   Replaced all the wood, patched it up, new benches...the whole nine yards..

them older boats sure paddled well, lot better than newer boats.   It was super heavy though.

Got it from the old Pierre Lake resort, had a number of them sitting in the weeds the old guy let me have one free. 

Galvanized metal.

12ft aluminum
I scraped and sanded a bunch but finally said enough on that, sprayed everything with vinegar and wiped it down with acetone
Good ole rustoleum enamel and roller/brush
the trim is for holding white plastic lattice from Lowes
