Yes you can.  It’s just going to cost you.  I don’t worry about applying in NM,  I plan on hunting it next year via landowner tags though.

not really, The permits for Non residents were cut way back a few years back. They Keep your money for an extended amount of time.

To hunt 280"-300" 6pt bulls, it definately is better than Washington. For 99.99% of the hunters anyway.

Or if you kick out the money.   Land owner tags are readily available every year, and allow you to hunt the entire unit.   My neighbor killed a 340” class on public land last year with a landowner tag. Grant it, the tag cost him $4500, but that’s the world we live in if you really want to hunt NM.

I wish it was that cheap for my unit. The landowner tag in the unit we are hunting go for that 6500-7000 range :(

I have put in New Mexico 5 times and drew 4 times.

Meanwhile haven’t drawn a tag in washington for 10 years.

This state doesn’t like me very much!

It's no different than most any other state. If you are trying to draw premium units get ready to wait. If you want to actually go hunt there are some pretty attainable tags.

The unit I am put in for has a 6% draw rate for Bulls and 330-360 is a reality with a lot of animals .... not great, but also really not that bad either...
