Glock 44
« on: February 25, 2020, 05:16:22 PM »
This new wait period is dumb!  First time picking up another handgun since the new laws went into effect.
Had to get the new Glock 44.  Been wanting them to build one of these for a long time.  Went to the range and looked over one of the rentals as well.  Wanted to see how they were holding up with several thousand rounds ran through it.  Seems to be holding up well and cycling well.  Figured this would be a good compliment to my Walther P22, Ruger R22, Ruger Mark 3 and S&W .22.

Sounds like you need a cooling off period.   :chuckle:

I've read of 3 blowing up with less than 500 rds through them . All went back to Glock , were replaced , with no explanation as to why from Glock :dunno:

I watched a few of those videos.  Hopefully I don't experience the same.

If it was a "common sense" gun law couldn't you pull your concealed carry pistol out and explain you would just use that for a crime if that was your purpose and then they could just hand you your new pistol? Stupid law.

Yep. Thus the carry permit exception in the past. It is idiotic.  It is paid for by Bloomberg's Everytown, wasn't it?

Bloomberg, Gates, Balmer and one other billionaire all put in a chunk of change.  What's crazy is the last two votes have gone almost exact 60/40.  They target the markets that make up most of the voters as well.  Unfortunate part is that I think the turnout was less than 40%.  non-voters are handing these wins to the dems.

I get that they don't want guns.  I don't agree, but I understand their position.

What I don't understand is that zero has been done to improve the database.  All kinds of people that shouldn't have guns aren't in the database because of government bureaucracy, lack of funding, old systems and a host of other reasons that can easily be fixed with some money.  That would absolutely prevent bad guys from getting guns yet it isn't even on the list of things to do.

We're so entrenched that they refuse to do anything both sides agree on, it has to be confrontational or they aren't interested.

I was supposed to get a call this Wednesday to pick it up.  They called on Friday.  I picked it up on Sunday.  Ran a through mags through it without issue.  I will have another chance this weekend to take it out and run a few hundred round through it.

Side note.  When I purchased the gun, I had not heard of any of the issues they were having.  Also the same guy that sold it to me had not mentioned any issues as well.  When I went to pick it up, they guy that originally sold it to me said have you heard of the issues they are having with this.  Would have been nice to know prior.  Then he tried to sell me their 1 year coverage plan for $40.  I said nope.

Hopefully I don't run into the issues they are seeing with these G44.  If I do, it will be sent back to Glock to have them fixed.  They have had good customer service in the past, so hopefully that continues.
