What else should I add to my boat?

What else do you guys think I should add to my duck boat? I know the most obvious is a blind but do you see any other things that are missing?

If you have a dog, platform/ladder for getting into the boat.

Interesting, seems like alot of frilly stuff. I'd have that thing trashed in one season. The items that stick up, hang out, or sit on the deck will very surely get in your way at the worst time, or break off. Go manual and spartan. Serious shooting is messy. Better than being stuck on foot though.

A super sharp knife in a good sheath that is super handy to get at for emergencies. Always a good thing to have in a boat and use it only for emergencies so it is always sharp.

You mentioned possibly not needing a blind because you're in tall cattails, I can assure you the ducks can see you.  Also if your lights aren't "outside" of the boat or rails you will more than likely get reflection glare off of whatever boat part is in front of them (the back ones are the most obvious) making it hard to see in the dark.  Everywhere where you have one of those rubber pads for laying a shotgun against, put more of a secure gun holder there, especially if a dog will be present.  Last thing you ever want is an accidental discharge from a knocked over shotgun.

I'm kinda w/ metlhead on this one... There was a time when i had all this "stuff" on my rig. Since I switched to hunting primarily from my EBADS (increased mobility and dropping the need for a boat ramp in a lot of places) really the only thing attached to that boat is grass mats and an outboard.

I'll do clamp-on nav lights or just a couple headlamps of the right colors and a nice high lumen torch on a lanyard to my pfd. Not only will all the accessories potentially get snagged/stomped while hunting, it becomes a whole other layer of maintenance to keep up on - for point of reference on my big fishing boat I probably spend less than 10-20% of time/money on keeping up the hull and engines - the rest of that is burned on all the electronics and accessories....

Thanks for the suggestions. I usually cover the boat with the camo netting in case birds fly over head. This at least knocks the glare off things like the engine and helps the boat blend in a little better. I all for the simpler is better solutions as well.

It might be stashed up front already but: fenders and lines, FAK with quick clot or compression bandages, and a waterproof handheld vhf.  Agree with pinetar on a deck or pfd mounted sharp knife.
