Incidental Vs. Hunting Late season
« on: October 16, 2020, 03:24:33 PM »
Hey y’all,

I’m thinking of heading out early November for my second bear tag. I believe a handful of bears are shot incidentally during modern deer season.

Does anyone target bear late oct-nov with any success? I am most likely going to head out and see for myself. I was just curious if anyone had any thoughts.

Thx

My favorite time of year is right now. I've kill 3 of my 5 bear in mid october and 1 the first week of November.
I look for steep reprod that is open and full of salal. In my area I have a few that are full of berries until the end of the season and the bears really concentrate feeding in these areas.

I was up checking out an area (4,000 feet) last weekend I know has berries July/August timeframe and was surprised I came across areas that still had berries.  Granted I have never been up there this time of year before.  Made me wonder if yogi would still be using that food source.

The last few years I have had bears on camera WAY into November and even a few into December. My wife shot one on the 13th of November a few years ago. They are definitely still out and about.
Good luck!
