Stupidity of WDFW biologist
« on: November 26, 2020, 04:39:21 PM »
The person this story is quoting is none other than the WDFW biologist for the Pierce County area.
She is one of the biologists in charge of "managing" the "North Rainier elk herd".
I love the last sentence of the article where she is talking about the potential for wolf predation on the elk herd.

"Tirhi said she expects they (wolves) will inhabit the most remote and least populated parts of the elk’s range, such as Mount Rainier National Park."

Yeah the wolves will stay up in the park and not bother lowland folks and their cattle/horses/pets/etc..
Shows how much she knows about wolves. Laughable. Of course she knows the wolves won't stay in the "remote" parts of the County; she's just spewing official agency propaganda.

Ask her why we have them running through the walmart parking lot in colville, and running around residential areas through peoples yards.

She sounds like she went to the same school as the fish habitat biologist, from region 2, went to that said "The bottom 6 inches of a river doesn't move and is the reason gold dredging should be outlawed"

Yea just like they stayed in Yellowstone park. Does she figure they won't breed and population grow and spread?

My buddy had an encounter with a bio in SW Wa, was told that the wolves will just take out all the elk with hoof rot, leaving only the strong. Which will result in a “stronger” herd.  :bash: One way to get rid of hoof rot, along with the rest of the elk.

So, wolves feast on tons of easy meat, gimpy elk.  This bountiful harvest creates an explosion in the wolf population.  Once all the hoofrot elk are gone, this large population of wolves will not impact the now low population of healthy elk?  AND they wont disperse?  Wow.  Guess the wolves will just live on rainbows and unicorn farts in remote areas after they cure hoof rot.  Man wolves are magical creatures!

Not to worry the elk population in Yellowstone went from 24000 to 6000 and most of those had hoof rot an were crippled. Yea right

Remember the report a year or two back about how wolves transformed Yellowstone by thinning the elk so foliage came back to the rivers and beavers started building dams again? Hip hip hurray!

Oh wait.

Now theres nothing to eat so the wolves are eating all the beavers. Dams washing out, bank erosion. Wolves destroy rivers!

Its older than thst, but yeah they claimed the beavers returned due to wolves killing elk.  But its documented fact that they actually trapped in excess of 100 beavers from elsewhere, i think like 140? And released them into yellowstone.  Then they went "look at that, look at those beavers, the wolves did that they fixed the ecosystem!"

back further than that, the meeting minutes noted that they were looking at transplanting the eastern timber wolf as it had a closer genetic match to our native wolves, but they got the bigger wolves from up north so they'd eat the bison.

The original target was the bison not the elk,  elk don't do anything to a stream bed compared to bison lol

wolves found it easier to eat the elk.

elk declined in population,  bison rose in population

so to cure the bison problem they herd them off the park into corralls on tribal land, then give em to the indians.

About a year ago I did a little research on this particular biologist. On her Facebook page I learned that she is involved in the "Resist" movement.
https://moveme.berkeley.edu/project/anti-trump/
How encouraging that your (not mine) license fees go to pay her salary. Do you really think she shares your interests?

How did you tie her to that movement? Was it via FB

These biologists are hired for their ability to toe the company line, especially on wolf and grizzly issues. The biologists from WDFW and the USFWS have lied to everyone, including under oath to Congress, since 1993 when they started developing the wolf plan for the northern Rockies. They lied about how they reproduce, the size of the imported Canadian wolves, to where they'd spread out, their impact on ranchers and ranching communities, that they would be disease-free, and their impacts on wild ungulate herds. If you expect them to start telling the truth now, you going to be disappointed every time.
