Will he be a four point?
« on: September 08, 2021, 10:36:42 AM »
This picture was captured back in early June. Think he is a 4 by 4 now?

If you count eye guards yes, if you don't, I would still think he would be or at the least, a good 3. Regardless, legal

Right on. I was not considering the eyeguards. That area burned but there are still tons of deer around so hopefully I run into him. I'm surprised the 2021 deer thread has not blown up yet.

Well we know what the one in your avatar turned out to be  :yike:  This one doesn't have the mass or width, but still looks to have potential to be a dang nice buck.

Ha haa thanks! That one in my avatar was from 2013 or so I think. He grew so much more too. He ended up having a very tall set of antlers that were still massive even after losing the velvet. Of course, never saw him during archery that year.

Yes, that is a healthy, mature buck.  Assuming he has "normal" genetics, you can expect him to fork out front and back.   :twocents:
No other pictures of him?

That's the only picture of him like that, but I think I have him from April of this year when they were stubby antlers. Where he stands in the picture is all burnt now from the Cedar Creek Fire. BUt there are still tons of deer around, I just didn't get lucky last weekend. The mule deer does I saw seemed right at home up in the recent burn area.

I think he would have already forked for four at this point, so no big two with eyegards.

Check this one out.

OP..... early June means lots of time to grow still. Each buck may grow at different rates depending on a multitude of factors.

This buck was just starting to "four"k out in early July.

Yep lots of time to grow. This buck I got pics was early June.  He turned out to be a pretty decent  buck by September.  5x3 if you count eyeguards.
