Harvest Reports
« on: May 01, 2009, 05:30:49 PM »
So the fish and wildlife gave us an earlier app date which I think is awesome. The question I have is where are the harvest statistics from last year? Are they going to wait until after the deadline? I know it's a lot to ask, after all this state has a ton of moose, sheep and goat permits. What a joke.

I doubt if you'll see the 2008 harvest report before the application deadline. Previously they would just get the harvest report up maybe a week or two before the deadline. Now, with the earlier deadline, I sure wouldn't expect to see it before you have to make your choices.

They need to wait so they can finalize up the numbers that the Indians get out at oak creek.

That's pretty much it. I wouldn't expect anything better. I'm just glad we still have the high hunt, I wonder how long that will last.

guys don't kill enough deer to worry about the life of the high hunt.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Go on gohunt and look at the top of the map and go to queries at the top of the page and you can see from 06.

One of the reasons the harvest reports are slow is the position in WDFW that does the harvest reports is vacant.
If there are any statistician types out there who are looking for work, apply for the opening.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.
