I’ve heard the snow is high. Blues deer are a different breed in my limited experience. They stay up in the snow a lot longer than cascades deer.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

well the hunt was fast we had a short period of time to hunt because of family issues and going in blind but did talk to the biologist in the area and the area was burned bad this summer  one hour into the hunt spotted a small buck and notice he was looking across the canyon and notice he was watching another buck and it was a 4 point so the decision was shoot or not and since a short window for hunting decided to try for him one shot he was down,  then disappointed we were not gonna see the unit now but after talking care of the buck we drove around the unit and what a cool place to see.  We saw sheep and nice herd elk and saw wolf tracks in the snow at the tree line.  the bio said the deer density was very low but the sheep showed good progress and they are gonna feed the elk this winter because of the burn and loss of grass.   i felt the grass came back good for being burned this summer.   I reccomend people visit the area  just for the views of the land scape!!!

Congrats on the deer let's see pictures...

And just to let you know it didn't burn this past summer it was the summer of 2021.  So with the super wet spring in that area some of the burn areas had some great growth.  The spots that had a nuclear bomb go off not so much.
