They have to compete with the horror movie that shares the same name.
He said it was a special draw on his podcast but it was west side. I saw the picture on Instagram at the time but he posts so much it's impossible to find now. I wonder what GMU he was in?
I thought it was good, maybe that's just cause it was in Washington. They showed shot #1 ,elk going down. Didn't show the other shots after shot 1. It's pretty evident that they recorded it.650 yards is a far shot, and they got it done, but edited out.Maybe they just didn't want the kill shot on TV,I don't know.I'm sure maybe it was just guys wanting to help.I think it happens alot with social media, you tube, television production hunting shows a lot.You end up with a dozen guys spotting game animals.Covering a whole mountain range,or ridge.I realize they didn't portray it as a DIY hunt,so that is what it is.Alot of hunting shows these days, will at least have two people. One recording ,doing video work, other hunting.Very few are DIY ,cause it's very hard to hunt and get footage at the same time. So I understand a video crew and all that.Overall it was a good watch for hunting TV ,those are just things I noticed. Maybe edit all the guys spotting ,show all the shots fired.I'm sure I'll get trashed, flamed, and dumped on by some die hard fans. That's my review of what I watched.Could I do better, definitely not.
The general concensus to my knowledge is DIY=non guided. So if you have friends with you are you not still DIY hunting?

Lol honestly who cares if it was guided, semiguided, prescouted paid for maps, team hunting, or solo DIY...it looked like exactly what Mr Phelps wanted and he has a pretty big smile on his face
