Hi, Im new to the state and had work obligations keep me out of the western general elk archery season. I saw this coming and put most of my time into scouting and hunting for bear.
My goal is to punch my western elk archery general tag and i'll have the time to take off of work during the late season. My goal is to fill the freezer and late season cow elk seems like the best opportunity to do that, luckily some units allow for any elk. Im typically a back country hunter but have no qualms about sitting on a private land tree stand over some late season elk habitat.
Late season can be tricky with elk on private land. My goal would be to pay a guide or a trespass fee to fill this tag. I've scoured this message board and also been researching for a guide to get this done but have not found a late season specific guiding opportunity with reasonably high likeliehoood of opportunity at a cow.
Would any of you have a good starting point or idea of which guides to call with this goal in mind? I'm happy to call any guides you would think could work and talk it out with them.
Thanks!
