GMU 136 Deer Populations?
« on: June 10, 2009, 05:23:43 PM »
I was just wondering what the deer population is like in general for this unit? I will be hunting private land, so I'm not looking for anyone's spot, just some general info. We plan on making a couple trips over there to scout it out before the season as well. We will be rifle hunting, btw. Also, I see the regs list a season for Whitetail. Are there many whitetail in this unit? Thanks.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

That's fine. I'd rather shoot a Mule Deer.

Can be a discouraging hunt also, super open. I have spent alot of time out there yote and chuck hunting, be on property that looks to hold deer and not see a thing.

Most likely will be hunting 133 and 136 this year..we hunt on private..not a lot of public.  Harrington Area is a sleeper lots of nice bucks..gotta do the homework to find public or private land open to hunting..go to the GOHUNT site on WDFW and check the private lands layer to see potential landowners who offer Hunting by written Permission or Feel Free to Hunt..
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!
